... and not so Famous Fearnleys .....

A few of the more interesting and unusual Fearnleys who didn't make it into the history books:

Eric Fearnley, Modeller who made model railways but who was much better known for his flying scale replicas of aircraft.

Extracts from a document on the web, if this Peter hailed from Ashton-in-Makerfield then he is almost certainly related to the author:

Lancashire Hussars - 1858
VISIT OF THE LANCASHIRE HUSSARS TO SOUTHPORT
.......
The corps consist of three troops, one in Ashton-in-Makerfield, one in St Helens and the other Liverpool, they number about 150.

Peter FEARNLEY

Have you seen DJ Neil Fearnley working the big clubs of Europe?

If modern watercolours are your thing then take a look at Mick Fearnley's site.

The next Fearnleys, two Williams and a Peter, are of interest to me because they all 'ancestors' of mine. I found them listed in an 1895 directory of Earlestown, what would then have been very small town just north of Warrington. The town itself probably only exists because Robert Stephenson had many of his early steam locomotives and wagons built in foundries and workshops here.
